When a call is routed to a Ring Group and one or more extensions in that group have Call Forward enabled, you must also enable Call Forward on the Ring Group itself — otherwise the individual extension forwards will be ignored.
Step 1 — Enable Call Forward on the Extension
- Navigate to Extensions.
- Locate the extension and click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Set Call Forward to Forward.
- In the Call Forward modal that opens, set:
- Call Forward: Enabled + enter destination number
- Optionally configure On Busy, No Answer, or Not Registered
- Click Save, then click Update Extension.
Step 2 — Enable Call Forward on the Ring Group
Required: If the Ring Group routes to an extension with Call Forward enabled, the Ring Group must also have its Call Forward field set to True.
- Navigate to Ring Groups.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon on the relevant Ring Group.
- Locate the Call Forward field.
- Set it to True.
- Click Edit Ring Group to save.
Step 3 — Verify the Configuration
| Setting | Location | Required Value |
|---|---|---|
| Extension Call Forward | Extensions → Edit → Call Forward | Forward (with destination set) |
| Ring Group Call Forward | Ring Groups → Edit → Call Forward | True |
Step 4 — Test the Call Forward
- Call the number that routes to the Ring Group.
- Verify the call forwards correctly to the configured destination.
- If the call does not forward, confirm both the extension and the Ring Group have Call Forward enabled.
