How to Set Up a SIP Phone Manually?

Manual Provision (Configure from Phone)

Step 1 — Create the Extension

  1. Navigate to Extensions.

  2. Click Create New Extension.

  3. Fill in the required extension details.

  4. Click Add Extension.

Step 2 — Collect SIP Details

After creating the extension, collect the required SIP details from the system:

From Extensions Page

  • Go to Extensions.

  • Locate your extension in the list.

  • Use Edit / View option to open extension details.

  • Note the following:

    • Extension Number (User ID)

    • Authentication ID (usually same as extension)

    • SIP Password

From PBX Extensions Page (Top Section)

  • SIP Server (Registrar): Available at the top of the Extensions page

  • SIP Proxy: Available at the top of the Extensions page

  • Port: 5060 (default, unless specified otherwise)

Step 3 — Access the SIP Phone

  1. Connect the phone to the network.

  2. Find the device IP address from the phone screen (Menu → Status / Network).

  3. Open a browser and enter: http://<IP_ADDRESS>

  4. Login using admin credentials.

Step 4 — Configure SIP Account

Go to Account / Line / SIP Settings and enter:

  • Account Active: Enable

  • Label: Extension name

  • User ID: Extension number

  • Authentication ID: Same as User ID

  • Password: SIP password

  • SIP Server: (from Extensions page)

  • Outbound Proxy: (from Extensions page)

  • Port: 5060

Step 5 — Save and Register

  1. Click Save / Apply.

  2. Wait for the phone to register.

  3. Verify status shows Registered.

Step 6 — Test the Device

  • Make a test call between extensions.

  • Verify audio and connectivity.
